Slisha Organization celebrated a significant milestone by marking its 25th anniversary at Indreni Foodland in Baneshwor, Kathmandu. The event welcomed approximately 180 distinguished guests, including representatives from partner organizations, stakeholders, and supporters who have been integral to Slisha’s mission of transforming lives.
The evening was hosted by Keshav Adhikari and was filled with warmth and nostalgia. Board member Bishnu Maya Thapa set a heartfelt tone with a welcome address, expressing gratitude to all attendees for their unwavering support.
The program began with the symbolic lighting of lamps by participants and staff, a gesture that reflected 25 years of dedication and illuminated the path for future endeavors.
Slisha’s founder, Sangeeta Shrestha, captivated the audience with an inspiring narrative about the organization’s journey from its inception in 1999 to its impactful presence in 2024. She highlighted Slisha’s transformative efforts through 11 programs, which demonstrate the organization’s steadfast commitment to community development, child development, and women’s empowerment.
Additionally, Slisha has taken significant initiatives, including conducting surveys, research, capacity-building activities, and organizing large-scale events. By addressing grassroots issues through Positive Deviance approaches and researching violence, Slisha reflects a holistic approach to societal challenges.
The gala dinner aimed to raise awareness about Slisha’s mission and generate funds for future projects. Attendees showed enthusiastic support and praised the organization’s impactful work over the years.
In his closing remarks, Chairperson Raju Baniya expressed heartfelt gratitude to all attendees for their active participation and encouragement. He extended an open invitation for guests to join hands with Slisha as members, ensuring continued support for the organization’s initiatives. The evening concluded with a profound sense of pride, hope, and determination to carry forward Slisha’s legacy of creating positive change.
