SLISHA is a non-government, non-profit organization established in 1999 with a group of professionals dedicated towards making a better life for women and children of Nepal. SLISHA’s vision is to create “A happy society where children, women and men enjoy equitable rights”. SLISHA’s mission is “Creating an enabling and empowerment environment for disadvantaged women and children.”
Nepal was in a state of civil war from 10 years starting from 1996 to 2006. During the 10 years, reported deaths were over 17000 with over 3000 cases of disappearance. Post war, due to government’s insensitive approach for resettlement plan, families of the victims and affected people continued to face severe and adverse situation. We work for the development of women, children, youths, and the community as a whole in the field of child/women's rights, gender development, empowerment, child development, entrepreneurship development and social mobilization where we identify good practices/strengths which exist in the community and promote them.
