More than 3,000 children came together on 14 March 2026 to lead a powerful movement under the theme “Every Girl Child Can Dream of Timely Marriage, Further Education, and Career Development.” This event marked the outcome of a two-year collaborative effort between Slisha’s WAWCAS program and partner organizations.
The program placed children at the center of leadership. Chaired by a child participant, the event gave space for children to express their ideas, challenges, and commitments toward building a better future. Their voices echoed a strong message: girls deserve equal opportunities, freedom from early marriage, and the right to pursue education and careers.
The event began with an energetic cycle rally advocating for girls’ rights, followed by age-group discussions where children reflected on barriers, support systems, and actions they can take. A powerful call-and-response session filled the atmosphere with confidence as children declared ownership of their future.
Trained student volunteers, who initially struggled with confidence, played a key role in facilitating discussions—demonstrating remarkable personal growth through the process.
The program also engaged boys as allies, encouraging them to reflect on their role in creating a more supportive and equal society. Creative performances through drama and dance further highlighted issues of child marriage and gender discrimination.
The event concluded with a collective pledge, where thousands of children committed to continuing their education, standing against early marriage, and supporting one another’s dreams.
This impactful initiative was made possible through strong collaboration: Gujara Municipality provided logistical support, RDC contributed communication materials, Slisha/WAWCAS led training and program management, and partners supported children’s participation.
The event powerfully demonstrated that when children are empowered to lead, they become champions of change for a more just and equal future.
