Slisha successfully conducted its 27th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 26 September 2026 at Siddhartha Heritage. The AGM commenced at 9:30 a.m. with a warm welcome from Mr. Mahesh Basnet, followed by the meeting being facilitated by Mr. Keshav Adhikari as Master of Ceremonies.
During the AGM, the organization’s progress report was presented and approved, and the plans and priorities for the coming year were discussed and approved by the members.
New Board Formation
A significant change was made to the Slisha Board this year. After serving as Chairperson for the past 12 years, Mr. Raju Baniya decided not to continue on the Board. The members expressed their appreciation for his long-standing contribution and elected Mr. Ramesh Adhikari as the new Chairperson.
The newly formed Slisha Board is as follows:
Before the election and formation of the new Board, Founder Sangeeta Shrestha shared her expectations regarding Board membership. She emphasized the importance of having committed members who are willing to contribute their time, ideas, and support as needed, recognizing that Board members serve on a voluntary basis without allowances. She also welcomed individuals who are committed to supporting and contributing to the growth and development of Slisha.
Following the formation of the new Board, Sangeeta Shrestha expressed her heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Raju Baniya for his 12 years of dedicated service, contribution, and active participation in Slisha’s programs and activities. She also expressed her hope that the new Board members, particularly the new Chairperson, will continue this spirit of commitment, availability, and active involvement.
Welcoming Young Members
Another important development this year was the inclusion of young members who grew up with the support of Slisha and were raised at Slisha Home. Their involvement marks an important step toward encouraging the next generation to take greater responsibility within the organization.
Slisha hopes that, through continued involvement and opportunities to develop their leadership skills, some of these young members will be ready to take on Board responsibilities in the coming years and by the next election.
The 27th AGM concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening Slisha’s work, encouraging active participation, and building a stronger and more inclusive organization for the future.
