“Sustainability” ……..something every organization visions but few could achieve. Sustainability is crucial for a SLISHA being a NGO. Unlike other organizations, NGOs does not have a regular source of fund. They apply for the fund and implement the project. Project completes the life so does the fund. Hence, how do we sustain as a NGO and continue serving the community is a big challenge.
Sustainability does not come easy; huge effort has to be put in planning. It is vital to identify the sources where organization can draw resources and more importantly ideas for generate fund either through domestic sources or initiating business ventures.
The Board of SLISHA held its first workshop on July 26, 2023 wherein various ideas were discussed on making the organization SELF SUSTAINED. During the workshop, current status was presented and the areas improvements and enhancements required were identified. Post identification, how could each of the Board members contribute was also discussed.
The second workshop was conducted on August 22, 2023 as an follow up for the first workshop and further planning. In the workshop, initial action for SUSTAINABILITY was finalized, action plan made and each of the member’s responsibility determined.
Thinking and working for the Sustainability isn’t something that every organization’s board has worked on. SLISHA stands out from the rest.
