On 23 September 2023, more than 1000 WAWCAS business women from 8 wards of Bhanu Municipality came together for a TANAHUN WAWCAS MEGA MEET. They had been the part of the program from past 6 years. The major objective of of the meet was to initiate the process of making a Local Non-Government Organization (LNGO) in Tanahun to take the lead in the development of the community by themselves. In the event, women discussed about their roles, responsibilities and duties on formation of the LNGO, its structure and most importantly about its sustainability which was later consolidated to one for each ward. Eventually, each of the wards made their final presentation. The event was concluded with a strong determination in each women for establishment of the LNGO, an action plan to achieve the objective.
Deputy Mayor of Bhanu Municipality Ms. Usha Gotame also the Chief Guest of the program mentioned that the event was first of its kind with such huge women participation. The guests, ward chairperson mentioned about the positive impact the WAWCAS has had in the community.
The event could not have been a success without the 42 volunteers, students from Karmada Higher Secondary School. The effort and determination they had put in the event was second to none. Each one of the women had been taken well care off from the moment she entered the venue till be moment she left. To sum them up, a single word to describe them all can only be “HEROS”.
