Date: 10 July 2026
On 10 July 2026, we conducted a Tuition Center Parents’ Workshop. The total number of parent participants was 30, but due to a mistake, the minutes show 34, as some parents attended on behalf of more than one child. During this workshop, we discussed Mental Health.
Objectives
The objective of this workshop was that nowadays, many students experience stress related to studies and other life challenges. This workshop aimed to increase parents’ awareness of mental health, help them identify early signs of emotional and behavioral concerns, promote positive parenting and effective communication, encourage healthy stress management and coping skills, reduce mental health stigma, and support timely help-seeking to enhance the well-being of both parents and children.
Preparation
For the preparation of this workshop, first of all, we prepared all the materials needed for the workshop, such as newsprint papers, markers, pens, meta cards, paper tape, etc. For the food, we placed an order from the ID Sweets Shop.
Workshop Process
The workshop process consisted of three parts, as follows:
In the first session, we heartfully welcomed and thanked the parents for giving their precious time to attend the workshop. We appreciated that parents care about their children. After the welcome session, we started the workshop by reviewing the previous workshop, which was about nutritious food. Most parents gave positive feedback about that workshop. They shared that they had started giving homemade food to their children, and many parents saved money that was previously used to buy junk food. Parents also gave suggestions. They mentioned that although teachers tell students not to eat junk food, during lunch students see teachers consuming junk food in their office. Therefore, parents suggested that not only children but teachers should also follow the same rule if they want to educate children. This was the discussion about the previous workshop.
In the second session, we started the new topic related to mental health. We explained the importance of mental health and discussed its possible causes. After discussing these topics, parents shared that mental health issues can occur due to various reasons, such as excessive tension, the food we consume, mobile phones and social media, and poverty. Some parents also mentioned that nowadays everything is so expensive, which creates additional stress. After that, we gave parents meta cards to write about their own tensions and their children’s tensions, and next to write their action plans to cope with those tensions. Most parents shared concerns related to their children’s safety, as many incidents occur in society, making them afraid for their children’s well-being. After discussing all these issues, the session came to an end.
In conclusion, the trainer provided solutions to all these concerns. The trainer suggested conducting self-protection sessions and discussed possible solutions to the problems raised during the workshop. With that, the parents’ workshop came to an end. After the workshop, a parent-teacher question-and-answer session was held, where parents asked about their children’s discipline in class, their studies, and their behavior at the tuition center and at home. The teachers answered all the questions, and there were many positive reviews from the parents as well.
