The long conflict that Nepal has displaced many families and orphaned hundreds of children. These children have been deprived of their fundamental rights as enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Therefore, Slisha have started a Home for Children from April 2007 at Kapan with 25 children.
The children will be stay in the Home at least till their high school education. The children will be given assistance in looking for employment and living quarters when they have completed their studies.
We strongly believe that children learn who they are and what life is all about form the people they are with. Therefore, the home was operated like a normal Nepali home where the elder siblings are supporting and take care of the younger one. Children are taught to see every experience as a learning opportunity.
To ensure that the child’s have a better future, we believe that the foundation should be strong. Hence, the children were enrolled in one of the best schools in Kathmandu.
If you are doing important work without expectation then you will get support from many people. You just need to coordinate with the people whom you know. For our biggest achievements include while they were at SLISHA Home.
Happy and Healthly, having good results at school and good in extra curricular activities are just some of the achievements of the children.
Now the most importnat is all children are engaged in jobs/businesses and continuing their higher education. Thank you for such a wonderful contribution and supporting us to change the children’s life. You are an important part of our achievement.
